May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month, the annual observance dedicated to raising awareness about the dangers of skin cancer and the importance of prevention and early detection. As one of the most common types of cancer, it has never been more important to understand the risks of excessive UV exposure, learn how to practice safe sun behaviors, and join others in sharing this vital education. As dermatologists, this is the perfect opportunity to join forces with other organizations and actively promote education on skin care, encourage regular skin check-ups, and advocate for policies that support skin cancer prevention and research.
From May 6th – 12th, we celebrate Nurses Week, a time to honor the dedication and compassion of all our nurses and the vital role they play in delivering exceptional health care services. Our incredible nurses not only provide skilled care and emotional support to their patients, but they often also serve as patient advocates and educators. During this week, we celebrate their dedication, commitment, invaluable contributions and selfless sacrifices that make such a profound positive impact on their patients and the community as a whole.
