Study Sheds Light on Relationship Between cSCC and Indoor Tanning

Recent results published in a cohort study demonstrated a dose-response association between the cumulative number of indoor tanning sessions and the risk of developing cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma among women. The study was completed by the Cancer Registry of Norway and the QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute in Australia, and included an analysis of a randomly selected group of women from 1991 to 2007.

Adjunctive Platelet-Rich Plasma May Improve Scars

A m eta-analysis of seven studies recently published in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery demonstrated that adding PRP to fractional laser treatment, microneedling, or dermabrasion often provides "significantly better improvement in acne scars." However, the researchers noted that results regarding PRP with microneedling were mixed.

The Role of Depression and Anxiety in Atopic Eczema

A r ecent study published in the Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology demonstrated that patients with atopic dermatitis have a significantly higher prevalence of depression and anxiety compared to patients with other chronic diseases. The cross-sectional study highlights the need for better understanding and education surrounding atopic dermatitis and mental health.
